Hard to tell. Better wait one or two months to see if they don't shutdown, if paypal doesn't close their account (and in that regard rapidgator is an exception, their business DOES work even though they gave up on paypal for taking payments from customers !), and if they managed to process more than two batchs of payments...

I don't know why we don't open our own... Is payment the only obstacle?

You've got to have a server able to fit the needs, to handle all the technical maintenance, to comply with the paranoid requests by the payment processors that have all grown wary of file hosts, and then you have to find a way to do it without letting it eat away all of your precious time otherwise it's not worth it... it's not an easy job, you know !

Me, I'm in the process of doing that (I'm here to stay, and I'm fucking fed up with seeing old posts with all dead links, and file hosts receiving FAKE dmcas and complying to them, I want my old posts to contain at least one working zip link, my own), and I can tell you it's not an easy job, it's a chore.

The script is easy, the rest... as you say, is a bit more problematic.

@SlipperyOnion There is ALOT of laws when it comes to storing money online i looked in to it ages ago when i was going to make a sort of paypal site. even if you miss 1 of the guide lines you get the FBI after you or where ever your hosting. and remember each country has a set of guidelines normally only the country your hosting in comes after you the rest now just block you.

imagern has a good script. doubt he will sell it tho, you only have to deal with dmca complaints if they prove they own that intellectual property
