BIG EDIT: DON'T SUBSCRIBE YET UNLESS YOU ALREADY KNOW THINGS WELL, THERE MAY BE A TRICK, A MISTAKE NOT TO MAKE, I AM CURRENTLY CHECKING ABOUT IT
Hey guys!
I'll let you run https://blog.kuzkotopia.fr/2015/08/28/p ... ssl-force/ through the online translator service of your liking, long story short a trusted root certificate agency is giving for free SSL certificates for your website, if you want.
Usually that's around 60 bucks, so this is pretty cool in itself. Even if I don't need it for any of my sites, I took SSL certificates just in case, it can't hurt ^^
Edit: but don't screw up during the setting up process, revoking a cert to make it again costs 20 US$.
If you care, go for it, the URL is https://buy.wosign.com/free
I enabled SSL on gallery-dump for just a day, for testing, does it work for you guys, if I may ask ?
https://www.gallery-dump.com
I noticed xclicks won't load, but apart from that, all seems OK.
(if the https version won't work when you try, it means I'll have turned it off after some time)
Edit2: and don't ask me help for setting it up, unless you're also using Virtualmin as hosting panel
Edit3: I tested, declaring http://www.domain.tld during the creation of the signing request on your server (it gives you a string of text, public, matching the private key stored on your server, non-public, and you give that string of text to WoSign so that they can generate a string of text that you'll feed, in return, to your server, so that your server may prove it's backed by a valid trusted certificate issuer), and creating the certificate for domain.tld (instead of http://www.domain.tld) is enough to make it an invalid certificate. Once again, don't screw up
With SSL...
